Roger LaVoie is a graduate of the Yale Drama School,
where he studied scenic design under Ming Cho Lee. He
has designed scenery and costumes for both theatre and
dance in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.
His theatre credits include work for the Juilliard School of
Music under John Houseman, the Williamstown Theatre
under Nikos Psycharopoulos, the Adelphi University
Theatre, and the Missouri Repertory Theatre. His first
experience working in dance was Ravel's Daphnis & Chloe
for the Milwaukee Ballet. Other dance credits include work
with Ali Pourfarrokh for the Alberta Ballet in Canada;
Benjamin Harkarvy for the Pennsylvania Ballet; Saeko
Ichinohe & Co, Jonas Kage for the Malmo Stadsteater in
Sweden; Jean Paul Comelin for Ballet du Nord in Roubaix,
France; Kirk Peterson for the Hartford Ballet. Mr. LaVoie
is a member of IATSE/United Scenic Artists local 829, the
union of Theatrical Stage Employees.
